Animation and Sound: Beach Mob Jelly

A short underwater animation of an uprising Jellyfish. I hope you enjoy it.

In the next video i will show you the beauty of the underwater lighting system that i developed, since it doesn’t come out that well in this video.

Growing a tree using thinking particles, tracer and sweep in cinema 4d. quite fun - since it’s my first useful project using TP.

thinking particles work in 4 systems on top of each other. so its kind of a exponential thing. I’m just working on the UserData, to make this thing an easy to use program.

 arc2

rendered out my arc2 by monome. a one of a kind device with two high-res encoders and a LED ring around each encoder, which allows endless applications to run on.
What to learn on this one:
turning on GI Portal when there is light behind glass. the GI Portal simplyfies the calculation of light falling through glass, so there will be more light and the calculation goes faster. The option can be found in the glass material - Illumination.

monome 64
Going on improving my modelling and texturing skills i decided to model some instruments that i own. Here is my most precious electronic device, the monome 64. if you’d like to know more about it, visit monome.org
This 64 is made out of one piece of wood, so i decided, to learn about the volumetric wood shader. The wood shader takes time to get ahold of. What really makes it much better is blending it with noise. Also the positioning of this texture is quite tricky to get a real look. Also a lot of effort is in the aluminium top plate, but it didn’t really came out very good on this picture.
I’ll continue tomorrow by modelling my monome arc2.

back from a five day break of freeriding in the alps here come five pictures of one of my instruments, the sonor ng31 glockenspiel. modelling, texturing and lightning in cinema4d.

i’m playing around with the focal lenght, i haven’t really figured out, when to use what, especially at product sizes like these. the dark picture is my personal favourite. actually it was a very first testrender with one lightsource and standard 36mm camera, without DOP. After refining the scene and rendering out a few perspectives it looked like a very typical presentation. but the dark one has much more atmosphere to it. maybe its just me.

in the photoshop editing process i added a subtle pinhole effect, that it not just dark, but also blues out a bit.

dedicated to the incredible amount of lost thoughts in our lives.
